Insurance
- All students participating in the programme must have insurance coverage that complies with Erasmus+ Programme requirements for the entire duration of their mobility period abroad. The insurance must cover at least the following areas:
• travel insurance (including risks related to damage, loss or theft of luggage);
• third-party liability insurance;
• accident and serious illness insurance (including temporary or permanent incapacity).
In addition, participants are advised to ensure that their insurance coverage includes the loss or theft of documents, travel tickets and other personal belongings.
- All persons covered by the Estonian national health insurance system (including enrolled university students) are entitled to use the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) in European countries. However, we strongly recommend obtaining additional private health insurance, as the EHIC only provides access to medically necessary healthcare under the public healthcare system and may not be sufficient in all situations. The EHIC is also not sufficient for international mobility outside its area of validity.
- Insurance costs must be covered by the student.
- Insurance may be purchased from any insurance provider offering the required types of coverage (e.g. , ).
- If a participant is already covered against the required risks through existing insurance policies, it is not necessary to purchase a separate insurance policy specifically for Erasmus+ mobility.
- Participants in study or traineeship mobility are required to provide proof of the required insurance coverage to the International Studies (Senior) Specialist before the start of their mobility period.
