The TestDaF (Test of German as a Foreign Language) is a standardized German language examination for non-native speakers. It is coordinated by the TestDaF Institute based in Germany and offered worldwide. The exam is intended for learners of German from around the world who wish to officially certify their advanced-level German language skills. The TestDaF is comparable to the TOEFL for the English language.
The TestDaF primarily serves as proof of the language requirements for studying at universities in Germany. With an appropriate result, applicants can demonstrate the required German language proficiency for university admission. In addition, the TestDaF is also recognized by academic institutions and employers as an official proof of language proficiency.
